Abstracts

This thesis & exhibition examine the cultural repressions and expressions of queerness since the 1940s-primarily in America. Furthermore, I examine and focus on Queer abstraction and the use of codification within works of art. Queer artists have continued to make art even when it was illegal to do so and it is time for the queer community to claim their place in history. Key Words: Codes, Codification, Queer Abstraction
